DEVELOP THE PERFECT USE OF SHOULDER ROTATION AND GET MORE CONSISTENT AROUND THE GREENS

The key to understanding the Chip Master is to set it up properly.  Position the leading arm pad below the lead elbow using the elastic strap.  Adjust the arm spacing by pressing the adjustment button focusing on a feeling of width and not squeezing the arms together.  The arm pad spacing should be slightly wider than you would think is necessary.  This position magnifies the use of the shoulders in the takeaway motion, through ball contact and the follow through.  The Chip Master forces the player to rotate the trailing shoulder through ball contact allowing the wrists to function properly as the trailing shoulder continues to move through ball contact.

TEACHES PROPER:

  • Arm address position with shaft lean
  • Backswing motion with shoulder rotation

  • Swing plane for short shots

 

CHIPPING TRAINER USED BY TOUR PROS:

Position the Chip Master slightly below the leading arm elbow.  Focus on proper shaft lean in the setup position.  The Chip Master does not allow the hands to set behind the ball at address.  You will learn to feel the proper rotation trough ball impact and follow through.  The Chip Master allows the hands to rotate on plane in a circular path.
