This manual is made to guide you through your first use of The Orange Whip Golf and Fitness Portal. Orange Whip Golf and Fitness has a lot to offer. It might get a bit confusing at first. This is why we have put together this manual that will answer all the questions you might have. We highly encourage you to, at least, skim through this manual before getting started. It will answer most of the questions you will have. If you cannot wait to get started, we can’t blame you. If at any point you run into some trouble, remember that this guide is here to help you along your Golf Swing and Body experience.

Whether you’ve never had a golf lesson or training session before or you are coming in with some experience, you’ll find a challenging workout that fits your level. Finally, a number of tutorial videos are also included to help you brush up on and build upon your Golf Swing And Body skills as you progress in your Body and Ball Flight Journey.

If you are entering our program with little-to-no golf or training experience, we have designed a beginner’s path just for you. The Daily SWOD Path will teach you proper technique by taking you from the basics of Swing and Body Training to intense Functional Golf Swing Movements, and it will get you in shape by starting with Beginner SWODS and gradually increasing to Pro SWODS.

Just like any great Green Grass Golf Academy, Orange Whip Golf and Fitness offers the opportunity to be a part of a community of like-minded people who will push you and support you on your journey. Many of the GFX Coaches and team members offer additional support within the community.

Brian Newman, a PGA Professional, began his teaching career at an age capped community of 55 and older in North Fort Myers, FL, when he realized that to understand a golfer’s swing better, he needed first to understand the golfer’s body. Soon after that, Newman became a Certified Personal Trainer and Titleist Performance Institute Golf Fitness Instructor and started implementing golf-specific fitness into his formal golf lessons.  

This technique of training the golfer’s body and swing coordination at the same time started to prove its effectiveness under Newman’s unique golf fitness and instructional background, and Golf Fitness X was born.  The “X” meaning a cross or a blend of fitness and instruction.    

In 2014, Newman returned to Southwest Florida, opening a Golf School under the Andy Scott School of Golf at Stoneybrook Golf Club.  Newman began teaching over 1,000 hours a year while providing GFX training in group and private sessions at multiple facilities.

In 2015, after accepting the Director of Golf and Fitness position at the Elk River Club in Banner Elk, NC,  Newman continued to teach and train golfers daily.  GFX was taken to the masses with an online consumer platform and industry professional certification, and in 2019 Golf Fitness X merged with Orange Whip Golf, the number one training aid in golf.  

The new company, named Orange Whip Golf and Fitness, revamped the Coaches Certification and training program by adding and developing new award-winning products such as the GFX Power Peel and the Orange Whip Lightspeed.  Newman then joined the company full time in March of 2020 as the Director of Instruction and Fitness.  He also moved back to Southwest Florida, building a studio in his home located in Babcock Ranch where he shoots online content and workouts

To sign into the Orange Whip Golf and Fitness Training Portal, Use your Username and Password created upon subscription. Once you are signed in, you will be brought to the Training Programs Screen. On the tab bar you can select Daily SWODS, SWODS by Swing Fix and Skill, SWODS by Difficulty, SWODS by Equipment, or SWOD Library.

Select workouts in any of the tabs, where you can view featured workouts, workout collections and paths. To view the full library of workouts, Golf Swing and Body skills videos, tap on “SWOD LIBRARY” in the upper-right corner. From there, you can also filter workouts by time, difficulty level and equipment.

To sign into the Orange Whip Golf and Fitness Training Portal, use your Username or email and password created upon subscription. Once you are signed in, you will be brought to the Grove Member’s Home Page, or Limited Member’s home page based on your membership type. There you will be presented with the daily prescribed SWODs, or Swing Workouts of the Day for each product type.   On the tab bar you can select Daily SWODS, SWODS by Swing Fix and Skill, SWODS by Difficulty, SWODS by Equipment, or SWOD Library.

We highly recommend the Power Peel Package. As it includes all equipment used in every workout. Though the Power Peel Package is recommended it is not necessary to start training. As long as you have either an Orange Whip, LightSpeed, Or The Power Straps you are good to go!

One of the main reasons beginners might feel intimidated by creating a Golf Swing and Body Gym set up in their homes is that they visualize the size of a standard Driving Range Or Indoor Golf Facility. This is just to accommodate a lot of golfers, the actual training space needed for one individual is minimal.

You only need enough space for your Swing Trainer essentials and enough open floor area to be able to do some core exercises lying down. We recommend a space that’s approximately 8ft by 10ft. Workouts can be done in a relatively small area if you have the right Training set up, like a Power Peel. The Power Peel is designed to be sturdy and will stay in place.

streaming to your TV

There are two methods to stream to your TV. With the ‘Apple Lightning to HDMI’ adapter.

This is the best way to stream our programs to your TV without experiencing latency problems. Use the adapter with any HDMI cable connecting your device to your TV – there shouldn’t be any lag this way! Please note that the official Apple adapter is of much higher quality than other Lightning to HDMI adapters on the market. 

On an Apple TV through AirPlay. You can stream to your TV using an Apple TV and your iOS device with AirPlay. Make sure that both devices are connected to the same network and use the Screen Mirroring functionalities on your iOS device.

Once you login to the Orange Whip Golf and Fitness Training Programs Portal, you will see featured workouts, paths and collections of workouts to choose from. To see the entire library, tap on “Library” in the upper-right corner. Click on each workout to get more information and/or to start the workout. 

Once you have selected a workout and pressed “Start,” the workout video will begin. Each workout starts with a brief welcome intro, feel free to skip that by locating the chapter buttons at any time. Each workout starts with a brief warm-up. If you press anywhere on the screen, a Control Bar will appear at the bottom. The Control Bar gives you access to chapters, and the ability to exit or pause the workout.

Classic SWODS: These are trainer-led, Functional Golf Swing and Body workouts that feature a mix of Golf Specific movement combinations and SPEED Exercises. This program is primarily done with the Power Peel Package or Power Strap and Speed Kit.

WHIP WODS: This program was designed specifically for the Orange Whip Trainer with optional connections. This program tends to be shorter in nature and is a great one to do before a round.

SPEED SWODS: This program was designed specifically for the LightSpeed Trainer with optional connections. This program is centered around swing speed and distance. Whether you are looking for More Distance or just trying to maintain swing speed this program is for you!

Each workout features multiple rounds with a 1-minute rest in between. Each workout starts with a brief warmup and ends with a brief cooldown.

In this Section you will find the optional connection points outlined in both an image and in text  defined by Belt, Resistance Band and Peel/Foot Strap Connections.

DEMO MOVEMENTS

These short tutorial videos show you how to properly execute the Functional Training Movements within each program.

WORKOUT SKILL LEVEL

Amateur: These feature basic, entry-level Golf Specific Functional movements and are perfect for those at all different skill levels. Don’t worry, they can be just as physically difficult as any of the Golf Swing And Body Open or Advanced-level Orange Whip Golf And Fitness workouts.

Open: These workouts are meant for those who are entering Orange Whip Golf Fitness Training with 3+ months of prior experience in Golf Swing and Body Training. If you struggle with our Open workouts even a little bit, we suggest that you go through our Amateur workouts to get you ready to master these slightly more difficult workouts!

Pro: Pro – level workouts are for those entering Orange Whip Golf and Fitness Training with 6+ months of prior experience in Golf Swing and Body Training. These workouts challenge you both mentally and physically and often feature difficult Functional Training Movements. We highly suggest you complete some Open Level programs and get comfortable before moving into the Advanced workouts.

In addition to our The Interactive Golf Swing and Body Workouts supplemented in the subscription you gain access to over a hundred Functional Golf Specific Video Demo Movements used in each workout. These movements are used by our Coaches and Students across the world in unique ways to fit their Golf Swing and Body needs.  

Within the Training Programs landing page we have an entire pathway dedicated to Swing Flaw and Swing Fixes. To name a few we cover: Slice, Over the Top, Stuck, Sway, Reverse Pivot, Lifting Up, Too Long and Too Short.

New routines are added weekly. However, in the prescribed Daily Swing Workout Of The Day this routine is filtered daily to give the student a different Functional Swing Program for each day of the week.
